How Does the CSFSP Work?
To apply for funding through the CSFSP, a producer must first complete an Environmental Farm Plan (EFP), delivered through the Provincial Council of Agriculture Development and Diversification Boards for Saskatchewan Inc. (PCAB). Saskatchewan producers who have completed an EFP and who have received a Certificate of Endorsement are eligible under the CSFSP for financial and technical assistance to implement one or more Beneficial Management Practices (BMPs).

How to apply?
Once producers have an endorsed EFP they will receive their Certificate of Endorsement along with a CSFSP application, program guide and BMP information. PCAB’s Watershed/ Farm Stewardship Advisors (FSA) can assist you in completing the application. Applications are accepted and reviewed by PFRA. Producers can choose one or more of the BMPs offered in Saskatchewan; however, one application form must be filled out for each BMP category. Producers are eligible for a maximum of $50,000 in cost-shared funding over the life of the program.

Eligibility
Saskatchewan producers who have successfully completed an EFP are eligible for up to $50,000 in cost-shared funding for the implementation of BMPs. To qualify for assistance, all projects must be approved by CSFSP before any work is undertaken or purchases made. Funds will not be paid for retroactive project work.

Once the Certificate of Endorsement is received from PCAB and the producer decides what BMPs will be implemented, producers should apply for CSFSP funding as soon as possible to allow for the necessary approvals.

Once an application has been approved, the producer will be advised in writing. The CSFSP has been extended to March 31, 2009. All projects must be completed within the 2008 construction season.
